![]() ![]() Our goal at that time was to save as many animals as possible that were scheduled to be euthanized and place them under HSCC foster guardianship until they were adopted.īecause we did not have our own facility to house the animals we were working to save, we regularly transported them to remote sites to participate in adoption events. Haas Humane Society of Cobb County was founded in 1957 and initially operated (independently) from a small space within the Cobb County Animal Control facilities. With the assistance of dedicated volunteers and generous supporters, our programs continue to make a positive difference in the lives of animals. We educate about humane and responsible animal guardianship through programs and community outreach and offer various resources to those in need. There are approximately 100 cats and a few dogs under our care at any given time, most of whom are available for adoption. Our volunteer-based, no-kill shelter provides assistance to animals and pet owners in Cobb County and surrounding areas. We are not affiliated with Cobb County government, or any other local or national humane society or animal welfare organization, and we are funded primarily from donations. The Humane Society of Cobb County is an independent, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) no-kill shelter and charitable humane animal welfare organization. Haas Humane Society of Cobb County is to promote humane welfare and responsible animal guardianship through educational community outreach, shelter, and spay/neuter programs.
